Review: Part of Your World by Abby Jimenez

About the Book

A refreshingly modern fairy tale and instant New York Times bestseller that Love Hypothesis author Ali Hazelwood hails as "an uplifting, feel-good, romantic read."

After a wild bet, gourmet grilled-cheese sandwich, and cuddle with a baby goat, Alexis Montgomery has had her world turned upside down. The cause: Daniel Grant, a ridiculously hot carpenter who’s ten years younger than her and as casual as they come—the complete opposite of sophisticated city-girl Alexis. And yet their chemistry is undeniable.

While her ultra-wealthy parents want her to carry on the family legacy of world-renowned surgeons, Alexis doesn’t need glory or fame. She’s fine with being a “mere” ER doctor. And every minute she spends with Daniel and the tight-knit town where he lives, she’s discovering just what’s really important. Yet letting their relationship become anything more than a short-term fling would mean turning her back on her family and giving up the opportunity to help thousands of people.

Bringing Daniel into her world is impossible, and yet she can’t just give up the joy she’s found with him either. With so many differences between them, how can Alexis possibly choose between her world and his?

Review

I love a good rom-com, and Part of Your World was the perfect combination of sweet and fun, with a dash of emotion and steam.

Let's start with my favourite part of the novel, Daniel. I absolutely adored the main male character. He was genuinely kind, thoughtful, and down to earth. I don't think I can name any flaws in his character. I enjoyed how the romance between him and Alexis developed throughout the story, though initially I found their connection a little to insta for me. I was able to overlook that as their relationship progressed, and I was engaged in their conversations as they spent more time together. They had great chemistry, and their growing feeling became more believable as the story progressed. I definitely rooted for their HEA!

There was minimal drama and some angst (not too much), and it was predictable as to what obstacles would stand in Alexis and Daniel's way, but I'm glad it didn't take too long for them to figure things out and for Alexis to finally live life on her own terms!

All in all, Part of Your World was a charming and entertaining opposites attract/from two different worlds romance. It was a quick read, and I'd recommend it to kick back with on a weekend of relaxation!
