New Release Review: Fair Game by Lisa Suzanne

About the Book

When the guy I’m fake engaged to suggests we get married in Hawaii, I’m all in.

And then I meet his family.

His parents look upon him with disapproving eyes, and that’s nice compared to the way they look at me. His pro quarterback brother thinks everything’s a contest, including wooing me away from Luke. His sweet and bubbly sister is the one saving grace in this family.

None of them are playing fair, though.

It’s up to us to beat them at their own game. Teaming up with Luke only pushes us closer together, but he still won’t give into the heat between us. I’m his best friend’s little sister. He and I are roommates. I work for him.

They’re all reasons that don’t really matter since I’m marrying my Prince Charming at six o’clock on the beach.

Too bad it’s not real.

FAIR GAME is the third book in the VEGAS ACES series. This series must be read in order.

Home Game (Book 1)

Long Game (Book 2)

Fair Game (Book 3)

Waiting Game (Book 4)

End Game (Book 5)

Review

Fair Game picked up right where Long Game left off. Luke and Ellie's story continues with more angst and a lot more drama.

They're in Hawaii gearing up for the wedding, and we get to know Luke's family.

Well, his family was a bunch of jerks, especially his egotistical brother Jack. I loved how Ellie stood up for Luke when it came to his family, and continued to support him. I wasn't convinced when Jack kept coming on to Ellie, that she even found him the least bit attractive. I just didn't buy any sort of positive feelings towards him from her whatsoever. I don't like him, but I'm interested to find out what the author is going to do with Jack. Will he remain a douche or will he be redeemed at some point?

I admit I enjoy reading the story through Ellie's perspective and getting to know what she thinks and feels, but I would really love to get a glimpse into Luke's mind and have a few chapters from his point of view. I like his character, his sweet side comes out from time to time in this one, but there's still a bit of mystery there and I want more from him.

As usual Lisa Suzanne drops the cliffhanger ending just when something big is about to happen. I can't wait to read the next book to find out what's next on their wild ride!
