I've read the first two books in the series so I've been eager to read Mark's story. I was not disappointed with this latest installment, Unexpected Fall was heavy with emotion and heart. Kaylee's characters were very easy to connect to, invest in, and feel for. Mark and Dawn had not defined their relationship officially, and once the chance finally arose, that "talk" had to be put on the back-burner due to unforeseen tragic events. Still, words weren't needed to know exactly how they felt about each other. Their love was present in their actions. The author did an excellent job showing just how deep their feelings were, as well as how they continued to grow with each passing chapter. Mark was a constant, reassuring support for Dawn after she was hit with multiple life-changing circumstances. Dawn knew she could turn to him for strength when she needed him. They fit so well together. Theirs was an emotional journey, but it was satisfying to see them tackling grief, healing, and new life adventures together. The majority of the story was filled with heart-tugging moments, so it was nice to have a good chunk of the story towards the end- last 20% or so- be a little on the brighter, lighter side. I love a swoony, sexy, and emotional read, and Unexpected Fall ticked all those boxes. If you love the Unexpected Arrivals series, Don't miss out on reading Dawn and Mark's story.
