New Rock Star Romance Review! The Benefits of Bad Decisions by Lisa Suzanne
If you enjoy a rock star romance, I've got one for you! Lisa Suzanne's new standalone novel, The Benefits of Bad Decisions, was an entertaining read, with plenty of steam and flirty dialogue to keep me engaged. When we were introduced to the female protagonist, Zoey, I wasn't quite sure how I felt about her. I didn't connect with her in the first few chapters but once she was introduced to the band, acting more like herself and opening up to Brody, I found myself warming to her character. The immediate attraction, rising heat, and the unexpected feelings that developed between the hot drummer and beautiful back-up dancer had me turning the pages of this book quickly in excitement. I adored Brody and Zoey's banter, and loved that they shared the same crude sense of humor. Things between the budding couple seemed to be simply falling into place, and just when you think things between them couldn't get any cuter, a surprise is revealed- one I'm guessing might have some jaws dropping! I happened to figure it out; One sentence stood out to me, tipping me off. Though once my suspicion was confirmed to be the truth, I still felt the shocking blow of the revelation! What comes after is an emotional ride. I felt the angst in my gut as the characters struggled with their feelings. I grew frustrated a time or two with Brody, but I understood that he needed to come to terms with things in his own way. I enjoyed seeing the two characters work through their emotions and overcome their problems. In the end, this was a satisfying read that I devoured in two sittings. If you're a fan of romance with a side of sexy and a kick of angst, check it out!
