New Release w/ Review: Redemption by Jessica Ruben

*This is the third book in the Vincent and Eve Trilogy. Both Rising and Reckoning must be read prior to reading Redemption.

I was quickly sucked into the lives of Vincent and Eve in Rising, and after reading Reckoning I was hooked. Redemption instantly became a book high up on my most anticipated reads list. Once it hit my kindle I readily dove right back into the story, eager to see how it would all conclude. There is a time jump between the two final novels- 7 years. When we see Eve and Vincent again they are different people. They've grown, matured, and their priorities have changed. I did feel as though the first half of the book moved along at a slow pace, and I suppose because of the time jump I lost a bit of the connection I felt for the characters we had come to know. The second half picked up in pace and there was a fair amount of romance and action. This portion felt somewhat rushed in places to me and certain scenes presented as implausible; conflicts were resolved too rapidly and conveniently. Everything was going off without a hitch. Aside from some pacing and conflict resolution issues, I was satisfied with the conclusion to Vincent and Eve's love story. I've been rooting for them since the beginning of it all. They didn't have the easiest journey, but finding their way back to each other was what I hoped for.
