Review: Unlikely to Fit by Ashlie Knapp
I started this series with book 2, so I can confirm that the novel is easy to enjoy as a complete standalone. Unlikely to Fit was a sweet and entertaining story. It was fairly low on drama and angst; a light read. The main characters have both experienced a romantic loss, one through death and one through divorce. Both Griff and Breckin have each been dealing with the pain and hurt- him for a few years her for the past year- but as their friendship develops, you can see they've finally reached a point where they are ready to open their hearts to the possibility of love again. Their romance grows from mutual attraction, respect, and friendship. I thought their feelings were believable and they had a good connection. Griff was all rough exterior. A big, burly, tattooed, motorcycle riding man... but underneath he was a soft hearted and kind gentleman. Breckin was intelligent, creative, and fun. Both were likeable characters; I rooted for their happiness. Griff's Mema was one character I both liked and didn't at the same time. She was blunt and sarcastic, and coming from a ninety-year-old it was funny at times, but sometimes I just thought she was rude. Unlikely to Fit was a cute second chance romance and overall I enjoyed the story. I would be interested in reading book one as well as others in the series.

Unlikely to Fit (Parker Lake, Book 2)
Romance
Standalone
When Breckin Henderson returned to her hometown of Parker, Oklahoma, with her college sweetheart and football coaching husband, she didn’t expect him to leave her for the head cheerleader as soon as she walked across the graduation stage. Never one to tuck tail and run, Breckin remained in Parker with her friends and dad. But picking up the pieces of her shattered life proved more difficult than she could ever imagine, especially in a small town where everyone knows everyone else’s business. To outsiders, Griffin Stephens looked like a man someone wouldn’t want to meet in a darkened alley. Big muscles, tattoos from head to toe, shaved head, rugged beard, leather jacket wearing Harley rider did not equate to a man some lucky woman would take home to meet her daddy. For residents of Parker, however, Griff was a gentle giant. The man who came home with a broken heart when the love of his life was killed in a tragic motorcycle accident. The grandson who drove his eighty-nine year old grandmother grocery shopping each week. The bartender who took over the bar his grandfather owned and subsequently took his grandfather’s place listening to the town’s troubles. Gentle. Dependable. Trustworthy. Kind. In a moment of weakness, Breckin agrees to help Griff plan his precocious Mema’s ninetieth birthday party. Both Breckin and Griff’s hearts have been broken once before. As they grow closer, will they be able to put their fears and insecurities aside and try to discover love again? Or will their hearts be too broken to ever completely mend?
