New Release w/ Review: DOUBLE DOWN by Alessandra Torre

Double Down opens right where Even Money left off. From that very first page, the novel moved forward at a quick pace. The suspense was high, and it kept me on the edge of my seat as the story played out. Dario and Bell still had that strong connection that developed between them in book one, and the love they shared could certainly be felt, I only wish they had a few more steamy and/or romantic moments together. This book focused more on the drama, action, and suspense aspects of the story and less on the romantic side. I found the build-up to be great, but the climactic point was mediocre and everything was too quick to wrap up. The 'villain showdown' so to speak didn't really happen and I suppose I was expecting something more. Despite having less of a romantic focus, Double Down was an intense and gripping read. The duet as a whole was an entertaining ride. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to a romantic suspense fan!
