Book Review
This is a story that is known as a major tearjerker, but it didn’t pack that degree of emotional punch with me. I smiled, I laughed, and I felt the heartache, and the endless- although sappy- love between the two main characters.
Poppy was selfless and caring. She was always incredibly optimistic and peppy, almost unrealistically so. Rune was broody, but gentle, kind, and protective of Poppy. Together they shared the kind of love that some people can only hope for, the forever and always kind. To infinity and beyond. It had been growing since the day they met at just 5 years young. I found it was oh so sweet at times, and often very cheesy. Their conversations also got somewhat repetitive.
The plot twist happens early on, and I thought it was too predictable. At the first signs of it, it was clear to me that the author was going to take it in one of two directions. As I read more dialogue, I knew exactly which scenario was about to play out and I was right.
A Thousand Boy Kisses was an overall decent read. There were things I enjoyed, and things I didn't. I really was not a fan of the epilogue, I would have preferred the author left it out. I won’t give major spoilers, but it basically left me with mixed feelings- I wasn’t left entirely happy.
If you enjoy YA romance, check it out for yourself.
