The Outpost is book four in the Jamison Valley series, but it can be read and enjoyed as a complete standalone. The storyline was interesting, the characters were lovable, and the scenery was described so beautifully, I could picture the mountains in my mind. Sabrina was a brave, fearless and strong woman who found herself in extreme danger. She was on the run from a major crime family and to ensure her safety, she had to leave her home without notifying any of her loved ones, and hide out in the wilderness of Montana at an outpost- with Beau Holt. Beau, what a man. I swooned over him a time or two. He was loyal, protective, incredibly caring and sexy. The spark between him and Sabrina burned hot! I loved the easy banter they had and the friendship they built during their time at the outpost. The romantic relationship that developed between them was the icing on the cake. It was sweet and incredibly sexy! There were sections where I felt the pacing was a bit slow, but overall it was an engaging read. The suspense and romance were intriguing, and I was captured by the characters and their story. This is the first novel in the series that I have read, and now I plan to back-track and read them all!
