Review: The Intern, Volume Two by Brooke Cumberland

This is volume two in the three-part serial and they must be read in order. Volume two brings a little more mystery and a TON more heat.

Bentley finds himself questioning Ceci and her intentions. Does she really care for him, or is she just out to get something from him like the women in his past? But Ceci has a plausible explanation for every question he presents and slowly his doubts are pushed into the back of his mind as his feelings for her take over.

If you thought book one was hot, volume two turns up the heat another notch! The sexual chemistry is amazing between these two characters. Their romantic relationship is also moving forward at a quick pace, but I’m still finding myself a few steps behind and lacking an emotional connection to them.

For me, there wasn’t much progression with Ceci’s search to uncover the truth about her father, but each little reveal kept me guessing and wondering where all the hints would lead in the end.

I’m ready to find out how it all goes down when Ceci’s lies are exposed. Part of me wonders why she didn’t just tell Bentley earlier on, once she knew he had deep feelings for her. But that ship has sailed, and her secrets are about to catch up with her.
