Release Blitz w/ Review: WE OWN TONIGHT by Corinne Michaels
Review
We Own Tonight is the latest standalone contemporary romance by Corinne Michaels. Although the plot kept me engaged, the romance between the main characters took me a little too long to get into, therefore it fell a little short in my eyes.
Heather has so much going on in her life and finally she takes one night off from her responsibilities to let loose with her girlfriends. She finds herself front row centre at the concert of the boy-band she has loved since she was a teenage girl. Her eyes find frontman and eternal heartthrob Eli Walsh, but he couldn’t really be looking back at her, could he?
Oh yes, he was.
“You…
Come up here, sweetheart…
Don’t go anywhere after the show.”
Eli is a sexy, famous Rockstar and actor. Girls fawning over him in attempts to get into his bed, is the norm. But on this night, his eyes find Heather in the crowd and something about her draws him in. After they hit the sheets, he knows there is something different about this woman. But before he has the chance to even talk to her, she’s cut and run.
But he won’t let her get away so easily, he wants to get to know Heather, to be her ‘friend’ even, and he won’t take no for an answer.
“Wikipedia should mention I’m relentless in pursuing what I want.”
I thought that both main characters were well developed, I felt like I enjoyed them as individuals, but I didn’t fall for them as a ‘pair’ quite as quickly as they felt a connection to each other. Eli was super sexy, sweet and charismatic, I really did feel starry eyed over his character, but him and Heather just had me feeling ‘meh.’
This is a story that I’m sure will be an emotional and angsty ride for many, but something was missing for me. But, if you’re in the mood for a book with a swoony hero, We Own Tonight and Eli Walsh may still be a good fit for you.
