Synopsis

To break a heart is easy.

All you have to do is reach in, wrap your blood covered hands around it, and pull.

This happened to me.

Two hands, both red as my hair, did this exact thing.

Tore it away like it wasn’t made for me.

Maybe it was his to take?

Because years on, with those same blood red hands, he still has it.

In his hands.

And he won’t give it back.

But the real question is, do I want it back.

He is dangerous, uncontrollable, and downright sexy.

I fell for it all, but in the end, he didn’t catch me he let me fall.

My Review

Lotus is the first book that I have read by TL Smith. While the overall story kept me engaged, curious, and eager to find out how it would all unfold, it was the romance that didn’t fully ignite my interest.

In the past, Orion made the decision to sever his relationship with Lotus, leaving both of their hearts shattered in the process. Lotus and Orion are said to have this all-consuming, epic love for one another, but, I didn’t feel it. For me these were just two people who were in a toxic and destructive relationship. Years later, Orion returns to set the story straight and attempts to win his lover back. From there, it felt like a lot of back and forth yes, no, maybe-so from Lotus. I may be in the minority, but I just didn’t feel their connection.

Lotus is an enjoyable read, the love story just kind of missed the mark for me. TL Smith does know how to spin an interesting story, so I look forward to checking out her past and future work.
