Review: "Ashes," by Steven Manchester

Ashes is a story of two estranged brothers who are forced to take a long road trip together to spread the ashes of their late a’hole father. As you go along for the journey you will experience a wide range of emotions. There are moments that will make you laugh, parts that will bring tears to your eyes, things that will make you angry, and moments that will make you smile.

During their trip, we learn about parts of Tom and Jason’s past and what has lead them to the point in their lives where they are now. When you are taken back to the time when they were boys and you learn exactly how their despicable father treated them- these are the moments that caused my eyes to well up with tears. But those parts were balanced out by moments that would warm your heart or chuckle out loud at the witty banter between the two brothers. In the beginning, Tom and Jason can barely stand to be in the same room together, but by the end that has changed. To find out exactly how and what happens along the way, you’ll have to pick up a copy for yourself! 😉

Steven Manchester’s Ashes is a novel you don’t want to miss. The story drew me in from the beginning, it was captivating, and I could not put it down until I turned the very last page. Great read!
