About the Author

KD Robichaux wanted to be a romance author since the first time she picked up her mom’s Sandra Brown books at the ripe old age of twelve. She went to college to become a writer, but then married and had babies. Putting her dream job on hold to raise her family as a stay at home mom, who read entirely too much, she created a blog where she could keep her family and friends up-to-date on all the hottest reads. From there, by word of mouth, her blog took off and she began using her hard-earned degree as a Senior Editor for Hot Tree Editing. When her kids started school, and with the encouragement from her many author friends, she finally sat down and started working on her first series, The Blogger Diaries, her very own real life romance.

MY REVIEW

The blurb for Before the Lie sparked my interest and the prologue was gripping, creating a strong desire to read on. Unfortunately, somewhere along the way, my full attention was lost. For me, certain parts felt like there was information/detail overload, information I felt didn’t really add anything to the story. I believe there is such thing as being too descriptive, and some of the scenes, specifically the ones at Rock On, I found myself skipping over. It is most likely because of this, that I didn't feel the connection between Corbin and Vi, I didn't buy into their "love at first sight” romance. I really do enjoy many love at first sight novels, but I must believe it.

That said, this has not turned me off reading other novels by Ms. Robichaux in the future. Her characters were likable enough and the dialogue was entertaining at times. Even though this book wasn't one I enjoyed and I wasn't invested in the romance between Vi and Corbin, I would still consider giving book 2 a chance just to find out what happens.

As usual, these are only MY honest thoughts, feelings, and opinions.
